How To Test The Stickiness Of BOPP Packing Tape?

BOPP packaging tape is the most commonly used tape in the industry at present, it has excellent water resistance, tensile strength, temperature resistance and other characteristics, so it is widely used in packaging, sealing, bundling and other aspects. However, in order to guarantee the quality of BOPP packaging tape, we need to carry out strict quality inspection and testing during production and use.

First of all, we need to understand what are the main indicators of BOPP packaging tape stickiness. Common indicators are peeling force, adhesion, peeling Angle and so on. The stripping force refers to the tensile force required for the tape to leave the contact surface at a certain rate after it is adhered to each other. Adhesive force refers to the tensile force that separates the adhesive tape from the contact surface within a certain period of time after it is adhered to each other. The peel Angle refers to the Angle at which the tape leaves the contact surface, which is generally divided into 180 degree peel Angle and 90 degree peel Angle.

Next, we introduce several methods to test the stickiness of BOPP packaging tape.

1. Loop method

The loop cutting method is a common method to test the stripping force of BOPP packaging tape. The operation is as follows: Fix the tape on the flat steel plate, and then use the cutting tool to cut the tape on the steel plate into a rectangle with a width of 25mm and a length of 100mm. Then, peel off the two corners on one side to make it a "#" shape. When it is stripped at a specific rate, the tensile force of the stripping is the stripping force.

2. Racket method

The racket method is a method for testing the peel Angle of BOPP packaging tape. The operation is as follows: Attach the tape to the horizontal surface, and then place the spherical weight on the tail of the tape (usually 30mm in diameter and 500 grams in weight) so that it is just attached to the tape. Next, slowly lift the weight so that it leaves the tape without changing direction, recording the Angle at which it leaves the tape as the peel Angle.

3. Roller method

The roller method is a method to test the adhesive force of BOPP packaging tape. The specific operation is as follows: the tape is fixed on the surface of the drum, and the diameter and surface material of the drum should be selected according to the test requirements. Then, roll the roller with a fixed quality on the surface of the tape several times (usually 30 times), and then remove the roller from the surface of the tape, and measure the lagging length on the surface of the tape, that is, the adhesive force of the tape.

Testing the viscosity of BOPP packaging tape needs to be carried out by professional testing equipment and methods, and indicators such as peeling force, adhesion force and peeling Angle need to be accurately measured. Only through rigorous testing can we ensure that the quality and performance of BOPP packaging tape meet the requirements.
